Autumn at High Hand Nursery

Sargent Equestrian Center & San Joaquin County Historical Museum

Lodi is home to the Laurelvale Cyldesdales at Sargent’s Equestrian Center. The guided tour includes an up-close look at draft horses, quarter horses, and mustangs. Learn about the different breeds, tour the barns and enjoy a Clydesdale driven carriage ride along the countryside. The visit will include a BBQ chicken lunch. After, visit the San Joaquin County Historical Museum for a docent tour which takes you back in time to discover the roots of California’s heartland history.

Help harvest basket-full of fragrant rose petals from hundreds of ancient Bulgarian, French, and Persian perfume roses growing in our beautiful Rose Fields, all set amidst the vineyards of Dry Creek Valley. Stuff the petals into copper kettles, watch as they are transformed into rose water and rose oil, and become enveloped in their heady scent. Hear about the history of rose oil and the making of fine perfumes, while you sample the delightful output of the still. Includes tour admission to the Display Garden (several rose gardens and 8 arch Rose Alleé with over 600+ varieties of antique, climbing and specialty roses) and Rose Nursery/Gift Shop. The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Crime Laboratory is a nationally accredited forensic laboratory servicing all criminal justice agencies in Santa Clara County. The examiners evaluate and analyze evidence, interpret results, provide expert testimony related to the full spectrum of physical evidence recovered from crime scenes, and offer technical assistance and training to all user agencies. Service is provided in the major analytical disciplines of controlled substance analysis, firearms/tool marks, forensic biology (DNA), forensic toxicology, latent print pro-cessing, questioned documents, trace evidence and computer crimes. The lab employs over 50 criminalists, technicians and support staff, and analyzes thousands of evidence items each year. The tour will give an overview of all the services that the crime laboratory offers as well as the a tour of the new facility. The day trip includes a hosted 3-course luncheon at Original Joe’s downtown San Jose. An afternoon tour of one of the 17 Santa Clara County Fire Stations for a presentation offering fire & life safety skills advice, demonstration of special firefighting clothes, apparatus and equipment may be added to the afternoon at no additional charge.

Coastal Creations

Visit Magnus Sanbloom, the Firewood Farms woodcarver, and be delighted as you watch a carved bear created.  You might even be the lucky person who gets to take the treasure home…free of charge!  Then travel along the coast from Half Moon Bay to Pescadero for a hosted group luncheon at Historic Duarte’s Tavern…est. 1894. From there you’ll visit Harley Farms to follow the flow of milk from the goat to the cheese making room.  A “behind the scenes” look at the workings of an award winning goat dairy farm and a private tasting.

CHP Training Academy & CA Fuel Cell Partnership

Learn what it takes to become a CHP Officer. Following a video presentation, a CHP officer will escort the group through the museum, recreation building, gymnasium, and grounds.  The day trip will include a hosted lunch at a local  restaurant.  After lunch visit the California Fuel Cell Partnership. This facility houses fuel cell vehicles and a hydrogen fueling station. Tour the gallery with exhibits, models, and literature. Learn about CaFCP, tour a hydrogen station and ride in a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle! A representative will provide a question and  answer session for the group.

Marine Mammal Center & Bay Model Visitors Center

The Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito recognizes human interdependence with marine mammals and their importance as sentinels of the ocean environment.  A one-hour interactive docent led tour of the newly built center may introduce you to baby harbor seals, baby elephant seals, and sea lions…if timing permits, you’ll observe feeding time.  A hosted lunch at the famous Spinnaker’s Restaurant with beautiful ocean views will be a treat! The Bay Model Visitors Center is a fully accessible education center administered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers which makes possible the viewing of a scientific tool: working hydraulic model of the San Francisco Bay and Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta System. A unique opportunity to view the bay-delta system at a glance.  A docent will guide the group through the exhibit.

Walt Disney Family Museum at the Presidio

Self guided tour of this fabulous museum offering a look at the stories of Disney’s life, creativity, family, and the processes and innovations he brought to his art will be told through a series of 10 galleries.  You’ll find rare film clips, concept art, scripts, musical scores, and cameras that Disney used in creating the characters we’ve all come to love.  Add a hosted luncheon at the Presidio Golf Course: $78.00 per person, or no host lunch at the Ferry Building marketplace offering multiple restaurants, cafes, deli’s, shops, galleries and  farmer’s market.

Vision Quest Ranch, Phil’s Fish Market & Gizdich Ranch

The day begins with a private live animal presentation and tour of Vision Quest Ranch.  This sanctuary for retired Hollywood animals includes trained wild/exotic birds, large cats, elephants, alligators and more…offering an educational and entertaining safari like experience.  Then onto a hosted lunch at Phil’s Fish Market in Moss Landing.  Remember to bring a small cooler to shop for fresh seafood!  Your day will continue with a delightful guided tour of     Gizdich Ranch, and a piece of fresh baked pie in the Big Red Pie Barn.

Playland Not-At-The Beach, Fenton’s Creamery & Fox Theater

Monterey Bay Whale Watching

A full day away to experience the fun and beauty of Monterey.  The day begins with free time and no host lunch at Cannery Row.  Followed by a 3-4 hour Whale Watching Excursion with a veteran captain sharing years of experience with nature trips and marine wildlife.  Depending on the season there will be opportunities to see different species of Whales along with plenty of dolphin and porpoise.  After this thrilling expedition the group will enjoy a hosted 3-course  dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.


Experience the NASA technology and missions first hand through a self guided tour in the  exploration center at Moffet Field.  Followed by a hosted lunch at the Oak City Grill in Menlo Park. Then onto the USGS Geological Survey for a guided informative tour to learn how top scientists and  researchers study earthquakes and the SF bay ecosystem.

Villa Ca’toga & V. Sattui Winery

Come experience Hakone, the oldest Asian and Japanese estate in the Western Hemisphere–eighteen acres of magnificent beauty nestled in the verdant hills of Saratoga overlooking Silicon Valley. Due to the nature of the drive up to Hakone Gardens, we would recommend one small group of 24 or splitting a larger group into two smaller coaches, rather than one large coach, 48 maximum.

Come explore Hiller Aviation Museum. The Hiller Aviation institute is dedicated to the dreams of flight, looking back into aviation history and exploring the future. Visit Angel’s Camp History Museum and Carriage House…over 3 acres of history! Model stamp mill and model train showing route of Angels branch of Sierra Railway.  Then onto Ironstone Vineyards for a guided tour of the aging wine caverns, gardens and lakeside park, culinary exhibits, amphitheatre, Alhambra Music Room including the Theatre Pipe Organ, Heritage Museum and jewelry shop. Sausalito Wooden Boat Tour

3-hour guided discovery tour, exploring the history and mystery of the Sausalito Waterfront.  Herein lie the classic yachts, sailboats and cruisers. You will see an 1880 hay schooner replica, tug boats, an original houseboat community, and many historic vessels. Ranger guided tour Rosie the Riveter History Park, located in the wartime boomtown of Richmond, which preserves and interprets the stories and places of our nation’s home front response to World War II. Elkhorn Slough Safari

2 hour naturalist guided safari cruise through the Elhorn Slough an exciting way to visit this natural habitat that will provide excellent opportunities to view and photograph wildlife close at hand, with an in-depth look at the various aspects of slough ecology and fascinating history shared by your guide. Then off to Phil’s Fish Market for a hosted group luncheon…remember to bring a small cooler to do some fresh seafood shopping.  From there you’ll take a short drive to Gizdich Ranch for a guided tour and visit to antique shop, craft shop, and a stop at the Big Red Pie Barn to enjoy a slice of pie a la’mode.
